Leading drone manufacturer, Thunder Tiger Corp. (8033), continues to make progress in unmanned vehicles. After obtaining qualifications as the lead developer for the dual-use T-400 drone and the military micro drone, the company has once again announced its latest development, the prototype of an underwater unmanned submarine called "SEAWOLF 400." This vehicle possesses underwater swarm capabilities and can be used for reconnaissance, active defense, and even offensive operations.

Thunder Tiger Corp's Chairman, Chen Guanru, mentioned that the company is actively developing unmanned vehicles and is not only focusing on aerial drones but also underwater systems. He stressed that Taiwan, surrounded by the sea on all sides, considers underwater unmanned submarines as an important part of its maritime defense strategy, particularly with swarm capabilities. Therefore, Thunder Tiger's underwater unmanned vehicles encompass detection, control, propulsion, and even combat systems in their development scope. This marks the first public release of the prototype of an underwater unmanned submarine.

Chen emphasized that the development of remote control and communication technology for underwater unmanned vehicles is even more challenging. Once completed, it will set a high competitive threshold and is expected to become a crucial growth engine for Thunder Tiger Corp's future operations.

On the 25th, President Tsai Ing-Wen visited the Asia UAV AI Innovation and Application R&D Center in Chiayi to inspect the national drone teams, including Thunder Tiger Corp. and Taiwan Swarm Innovation Inc., expressing her support for the teams and emphasizing the enhancement of Taiwan's asymmetric warfare capabilities.

During her visit, President Tsai pointed out that unmanned drones play a crucial role in both civilian and military domains. She stressed the importance of not being absent in this field. While Taiwan already holds certain advantages in the development of the unmanned drone industry, the industry needs to transform to a higher level. Thus, it's essential to drive industry development with national needs, allowing Taiwan's drone industry to catch up with international standards.

Given the normalization of military activities by the People's Liberation Army of China, the formation of national drone teams, and the government's emphasis on autonomous defense policy in the drone sector, President Tsai paid special attention to the challenges faced by drone companies during this period. Therefore, she visited the Asia UAV AI Innovation and Application R&D Center in Chiayi to meet with drone industry representatives.

In recent years, Thunder Tiger Corp. has actively transitioned into the industrial and military drone sectors, focusing on innovative applications. Last year and this year, the company obtained qualifications as the lead developer for the dual-use T-400 drone and the military micro drone. After the President's meeting with the national drone teams, Thunder Tiger Corp. collaborated with Taiwan Swarm Innovation Inc. to introduce and present the prototype of the underwater unmanned submarine "SEAWOLF 400 AUV system" to the Ministry of National Defense and the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology.

Thunder Tiger Corp. and Taiwan Swarm Innovation Inc., along with other manufacturers including the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, are jointly based in the "UAV AI Innovation and Application R&D Center" established by the Chiayi County Government. They continue to invest in research and development, transitioning to military-grade products.

The new prototype of the underwater unmanned submarine, "SEAWOLF 400 AUV system," is approximately 4 meters in length, weighs about 1,000 kilograms, has a cruising speed of 2 to 7 knots, and can stay submerged for 8 to 10 hours. With its underwater swarm capabilities, this system can establish a new form of asymmetric warfare system against the People's Liberation Army of China, contributing significantly to national defense security through innovative combat strategies.
